1. The difference is that temperature is the average kinetic energy, and thermal energy is the total energy of the particles.
2. Heat is the transfer of energy from one object to another, while thermal energy is not.
3. A conductor is a material that can change in temperature easily, but an insulator is a cannot.
4. Conduction occurs from direct contact of objects, but convection occurs through the movement of fluids.
5. A change of state is the objects change in form. Ex: a solid to a liquid is a change of state.

Today we created an expirement to answer the question: How does energy move between liquids that are at different temperatures?
Our Purpose: How does temperature change when two different temperature waters are combined.
Our Hypothesis: When two different temperature waters are combined, the temperatures will be median of the two temperatures (in the middle).
Independent Variable: Temperature of Water
Dependent Variable: Final Temperature of Water

Hot Water (90 degrees celcius)

Procedure-
1. Take 15mL of room temperature water in one beaker. Get the temperature and record.
2. Take the hot water and combine it with the room temperature water. Get the new temperature of the two and record.
3. Take another beaker of 15mL of room temperature water, get the temperature, and record.
4. Add 15mL of ice water to the 15mL of room temperature water. Get the new temperature and record.
5. Now take 15mL of hot water and combine it with 15mL of ice water. Get the temperature and record.
